Kant

***************

It is God’s will that
we should be the essence of
starry vileness

***************

To be is to do
universal evil . . . Man
is a happy worm

***************

Religion has been
trodden on by blind reason . . .
Nothing is divine

***************

Reason begets doubt . . .
There is nothing higher than
imagination

***************

Seek not the favor
of belief . . . It violates
every principle

***************

Awe annihilates
science . . . Wisdom can be carved
from intuition

***************

We weigh the cruel
heart of mankind and judge it
guilty beyond hope

***************

What can I know? My
life is a dark ocean strewn
with empty voices

***************

The multitude can
be fashioned like wood . . . Honest
immaturity

***************

The law is a lie . . .
Crooked timber of a shunned
philosophic wreck

***************

Happiness is the
incapacity to live
with an ideal
